MELGAB INTERNATIONAL has been in operation since 1993. Despite being a small family business, we have become arguably the largest importers of Italian wines to South Africa and maintained strong cultural connection that keeps us in continuous contact with the Italian, European and International wine sectors.

Amongst our many suppliers, we are exclusive distributors in South Africa for GIV, Marchesi Antinori, Schenk International, Terredavino, Rocca, Casa Emma, Casanova di Neri, Castellare di Castellina, Cinelli-Colombini, Damilano, Firriato, Guerrieri Rizzardi, La Giustiniana, Renzo Masi, Mastroberardino, Medici, Pellegrino, Santa Maria La Palma, Zaccagnini, Distillerie A&G and several other high quality small producers. We are also exclusive importers and distributors for Champagne Canard Duchêne.
We have imported several ranges of Californian wines from Ironstone Vineyards. As far as Spain is concerned, we are exclusive agents for Bodegas Murviedro, United Wineries, Bodegas Aragonesas and Bodegas Ramón Bilbao.
We import small quantities of South American wines, namely from Finca Flichman (Argentina) and Misiones de Rengo (Chile) through their European agents.
Our most important customers in SA are the Woolworths Group, Spar, Makro, Pick n Pay Western Cape and Shoprite-Checkers. We also supply the best wine shops in the country as well as many South African and Italian restaurants, especially in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Furthermore, we have an excellent relationship with the Wine of the Month Club, which selects wines on a monthly basis for sale? and distribution to its members.
We can distribute to all major centres nationwide, while several exclusive agents take care of our sales and distribution to wine shops, restaurants, etc. in Johannesburg, Cape Town and on the East Coast.
