Rioja Gran Reserva

Description: Dry Red

Vintages Available: 1998

Country: Spain

Region: Rioja

Producer: Ramón Bilbao

90% Tempranillo
5% Graciano
5% Garnacha

A tawny rim frames a lovely, deep ruby-red with a dark cherry core. The aromas are very complex and open up with some airing, leading to balsamic fragrances, very ripe fruit and persistent quality wood. Aromas of leather and tobacco blended into notes of fruit in liqueur also appear. Well-balanced, tasty, suggestive and long in the mouth. Appreciable notes of cedar wood and coffee liqueur. Very persistent.

Cannonau di Sardegna Le Bombarde

Cannonau di Sardegna Le Bombarde

Description: Dry Red

Vintages Available: 2005

Country: Italy

Region: Sardinia

Producer:  Santa Maria La Palma

100% Cannonau di Sardegna D.O.C. Experts agree that Cannonau came to Sardinia from Spain around the 15th Century, most tracing the variety to one called Alicante or Garnacha, parent of France’s Grenache. Medium in body, aromatic and spicy, “Le Bombarde is absolutely delicious, truly a Sardinian wine. Born for lamb, or other hearty Mediterranean fare, “Le Bombarde honours a cove, where, since ancient days, high cliffs helped defenders protect the nearby coastal city of Alghero.

Colour: bright, lively ruby red. Bouquet: intense and refined with elegant and characteristic overtones; ripe fruit and some spiciness can be detected on the nose. The palate is warm, soft and balanced with ripe tannins; gracious flavours are well aimed to provide pleasure with red berry, leather, and subtle spicy notes.

Bright, vivid ruby red colour. On the nose, aromas of red fruit (red currants and strawberries) rest on subtle notes of vanilla that soften the wine’s vibrant fruit. Deliciously fresh in the mouth with lush fruit and a very pleasant fullness that is highlighted by nicely ripened tannins. A charming wine that reveals in full the attributes of the remarkable 2001 vintage.
