Craftily handled wine and wood tannins blend^? harmoniously to make Tignanello a very complex, stylish and sophisticated wine.

According to the Wine Spectator: Intense^? aromas of blackberry, currant and dried flowers follow through to a full body^?, with sleek, minerally^? undertones and superpolished tannins. This is racy and refined. Reminds one of the 1996 Léoville Las Cases or the estate’s 2000. Made for aging. A more refined, new style^? of Guado. To be released early 2009. Best after 2012.

According to the Wine Advocate: The estate’s flagship wine, the 2005 Guado al Tasso, possesses gorgeous aromatics^? and a core of vibrant, dark fruit framed by finessed tannins. Medium to full-bodied, it shows superb balance^?, particularly in the use of French oak^??. With air, attractive notes of wild herbs, smoke, minerals and sweet toasted oak develop to complete this very pretty^? Guado al Tasso. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2019. Tasting Notes - Intense ruby red colour, very subtle and fragrant aromas with light hints of red berries and stronger sensations of chocolate^? and liquorice. Close-nit, velvety tannins on the palate^? with chocolate, blueberries^? and a hint of vanilla^? in the aftertaste^?. A tangy and lingering wine, complex^? and stylish thanks to the excellent blending of tannins from the wine and the oak.

This wine displays a bright^?, very clear golden yellow colour. The nose^? has great personality with intense^?, clean^?, pleasing, refined and elegant opening hints of quince, banana, hawthorn and toasted wood followed by aromas of acacia, pineapple, honey^?, hazelnut, pear, grapefruit^? and coffee, all shrouded in rich minerality. The palate^? closely reflects the olfactory impression: a crisp^? entry^? however well balanced by alcohol^?, good body^? and most agreeable intense flavours^?. The finish^? is very persistent with lingering flavours of quince, banana, pineapple and grapefruit.

The name, of German origin (probably from the patronymic "bardilio"), according to a legend derives from Bardali, daughter of King Auleto and grand-daughter of Manto, founder of Mantua, mentioned by Virgil and by Dante. Certainly in the neighbourhood of Bardolino, on the Veronese shore of Lake Garda, viticulture^? is very ancient, as confirmed by the grape pips discovered among the pile-dwellings from Peschiera to Lazise, dating back to the Bronze Age. Bardolino Classico^? Ca'Bordenis takes its name from an old farmhouse in the commune^? of Bardolino, surrounded since time immemorial by vines, olive^? trees and cypresses. The production of this wine, started in 1975, is about 48.000 bottles a year.

Deep, ruby red colour; fresh and fragrant bouquet^?, with strong hints of wild cherry, spices and cherry blossom; fruity^? and freshly spicy flavour, with good body^? and excellent length^?.

Deep ruby red colour with a very light garnet rim; intense^?, very complex^? bouquet^? with strong notes of raisins^?, cherries and dried plums^? and hints of vanilla^?, violets and cinnamon^?; full, generous^? and very firm^? flavour with an elegant lingering aftertaste^? of preserve and spices. It is a very fine Amarone, of superb balance^? and infinite elegance^? which, thanks to its structure^? and its extracts, will be able to improve over the years.
