Bodegas Aragonesas is part of the Campo de Borja Denomination of Origin, and its vineyards are located in the foothills of the Iberian Mountain Range, in the northern part of the province of Zaragoza. This entire area - which includes the foothills of the Iberian Mountain Range and the high valley of the Ebro River (also shared by Navarra and La Rioja) - is particularly well suited for vine growing, due to both the quality of its soil and its climate.

100% Grenache

The Bodegas Aragonesas vineyards occupy an area of 3,500 hectares on a crop of southeast-facing hillocks situated at an altitude of 450 to 500 metres above sea level. This area, cultivated by wine growers from Magallon and Fuendejalon, produces 12 million kilograms of grapes, with a predominance of the "Garnacha" variety.

This wine is produced exclusively from Garnacha grapes. These grapes are sourced from a meager 5,500 vines scattered over from three vineyards whose origins date back to the beginning of the 20th Century. Hence the adjective "Centenaria", meaning "Century-Old".

The wine making is very traditional, with fermentation conducted at 28ºC in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. This is followed by maceration with skin contact for a period of four weeks.

Production is limited to 10,000 bottles.

Four months in American oak barrels in a large cellar with a capacity of 1.5 million litres a year. 65% of the total production has Denomination of Origin.

The colour is a deep, very bright cherry red. The aromas are potent, strongly reflecting the grape variety with penetrating and complex spicy, peppery nuances, complemented by well integrated oak overtones and tertiary aromas resulting from bottle maturation. On the palate this wine is smooth, with elegant hints of red berries and pomegranate supported by a solid yet harmonious structure. Its aftertaste is long, refined, persistent and lingering.

13.5% alcohol, 31.8 gr/l dry extract, 0.60 gr/l volatile acidity, 5.8 gr/l total acidity.

Pairs excellently with all slow cooked roasted dishes, Paella Valenciana, Spanish-style chicken and sausage, oxtail stew.

Serving temperature 18ºC.

It will age well for at least 7-8 years and may surprise after even 10-15 years if kept under ideal conditions.
