The vineyards can be found in the best-sited hills of Asti. The vines are trained by the Guyot? system in well-exposed ground, poor in structure?, and made up of tufaceous clay and marl.
The ripe grapes, picked by hand, are vinified by the red wine method with a long maceration? at a controlled temperature and with selected yeasts?. The alcoholic fermentation?? is immediately followed by the malolactic fermentation?, which makes the wine taste? softer. Matures for six months in medium-toasted barrels of french oak?? and of white oak from Minnesota. The wine rests in the bottle before it is released for sale?.
Intense? ruby colour, with garnet hues; very distinctive bouquet? with notes of vanilla? and balsam which highlight hints of jam? and carnations with undertones of toasted hazelnuts?; dry?, full, warm flavour, soft? but well structured with a lingering elegant, fruity?, spicy aftertaste?.
