The farm "Casanova di Neri" was founded in 1971 when Giovanni Neri bought a large estate? within the Montalcino territory. The farm is 35 hectares? of vineyards divided into 4 allotments in various areas: the "Pietradonice" in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, the "Cetine" in S. Angelo in Colle, the "Cerratalto" and the Fiesole" near the homonymous farmhouse opposite to Montalcino.
90% Cabernet Sauvignon
10% Sangiovese
The agronomist's attention, the correct distance between the plants, the uniqueness of the microclimate? and the components of the earth have produced a wine with exceptional analytical values. It has a deep colour, and it has been aged in new barriques for 18 months. Using the experience of Tenuta? Nuova, the Sant'Antimo Rosso? DOC? Pietradonice has been created by planting Cabernet Sauvignon in this "terroir?" to see how vines other than Sangiovese perform in the Montalcino area.

Harvested around September 2nd and 3rd, 2003 the Cabernet Sauvignon - September 18, 2003 the Sangiovese. Fermentation? and maceration? 15 days for the Cabernet Sauvignon, 18 days for the Sangiovese.
Intense? aromas of violets, crushed blackberry, raspberry? and cherry follow through to a full-bodied palate?, with a solid core of tannins and a long, flavorful finish?. Dense yet refined, with excellent richness and structure?. Loads of character and opulent style?.
