63% Corvina and Corvinone
20% Sangiovese and Barbera
17% Rondinella

The Guerrieri Rizzardi Vineyards, aged 10 to 30 years, are situated in the four DOC Classico areas of Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave and Valdadige-Terra dei Forti. The soil is brown and red with clay on calcareous rock.

One of the longest lasting wines in Italy, Amarone is produced with the same grapes used to make Valpolicella but which are left to ‘rest’ over the wintertime in dry and airy granaries. The resulting wine which is made from them is left to mature for at least two years to become Amarone: a dry, full-bodied wine with a rich complex bouquet and a full bodied palate, which can benefit from a few hours of breathing. The wine is suited to ageing, and will develop further aged character and complexity over the years.

French and Slavonian oak barrels for 48 months and 6 months in bottle.

Robust, full, big, sweet and lively. Packed with rich raspberry, blackberry, rosemary and cassis flavors. Deep, dark and inviting, the finish is long, lingering and full of ripe tannins.

Villa Rizzardi Amarone 2001 – 3 Bicchieri / 3 Glasses ... this is a red wine with great character, personality, rich fruit and spices. Its major impression is one of balance and strength. We liked it so much that we gave it 3 glasses. All Staff members deserve a 'Bravo'...
