Today, Limonio is still controlled by the Russo brothers and the very same principle still inspires their everyday decisions and activities.
It is also important to remember that the name, Limonio, constitutes a homage to the memory of grandmother Russo and, still earlier, her grandmother. Their memory has always been held alive in the Russo’s family.
Limonio was born in the early 90s from a brilliant but unexpected intuition of Vincenzo Russo who suddenly said to his sisters: "what about producing u' limonio ra' nonna (our grandmother's liqueur?)?".
Obtained from an ancient recipe, peels from Sicilian lemons? are steeped in alcohol? until they produce the perfect flavour. The visible bottle sediment? is an indication that the product remains unfiltered and thus retains the purity of a genuine, traditional lemon? liqueur?.
Classic after-meals drink. Sun, sea, summer, elegance?. Straight or with ice, it can enrich the flavour and aroma? of other drinks, can be used in cooking and baking, on ice-cream? or fruit salad?. Ideal as an after-meal digestive or nightcap.
