Tradition is of value only in so far as it imparts an obligation of coherence and credibility in the taking of the decisions that may from time to time be asked of anyone involved in the pursuit of excellence.

The Mastroberardino family has been immersed in the culture and society of winemaking for around three centuries. The most authoritative reports suggest that one Berardino, taking the professional title 'Mastro' - master craftsman - began the lineage in the seventeen hundreds. Once it had chosen its headquarters in Atripalda in the heart of the Irpinia winemaking region, still the site of the ancient cellars, the family inextricably linked its fate to the cult of wine.

Since then, ten generations have run the business, seeing periods both of expansion and of difficulty, recurring circumstances in the history of family business’ of ancient origin.

100% Falanghina. The historic Falanghina grape, which was first recorded almost two hundred years ago, in 1825, nowadays finds its epitome in the vineyards of the province of Benevento. The origin of the name is the latin word ‘phalange’, meaning ‘supported by stakes’.

Chalky clayey soil. Shouldered and pergola training systems. Period of harvest: Late September/beginning October . Yield per hectare: 8000-9000 kg.

Off-skins vinification followed by a 5 months stay on the yeast.

The wine is released shortly after completion for maximum freshness.

Colour: Light straw yellow with greenish reflections.
Bouquet: Fresh and fruity, with strong and persisitent notes of citrus fruit, pineapple and white flowers.
Palate: The freshness perceived in the bouquet is fully reflected on the palate, offering assertive and very pleasant acidity in perfect balance with the structure of the wine.

Alcoholic content 12.5%.

A very well-balanced and versatile wine with a complex and individual character. At its best as an aperitif or with fish and seafood.

Serving temperature 10°C.

Best enjoyed within 2 years from harvest.
